About Blind Mule Behavioral Services
Blind Mule Behavioral Services was formally established in the summer of 2014 with the intention of providing high quality behavioral services to public schools and as a means to create opportunities to connect and work with like minded educators. At Blind Mule Behavioral Services, we are passionate about education and have an unwavering and optimistic focus on advocating and instilling positive behavioral, social, emotional and educational services for students.
Blind Mule? An unconventional name and probably not what you think. When I first started teaching, I had the privilege of learning from some crazy great mentors who helped shape and mold my instructional practices. One particularly great mentor, Ken, would often accompany me on excursions to various schools that were in need of a little guidance for their most challenging students. Ken’s overall mission was to impart wisdom while I worked with the staff and students to help develop a practical solution. Ken had many wise expressions, but one adage in particular resonated with me and has become the inspiration and passion behind Blind Mule Behavioral Services. During those fledgling and growth filled years, Ken would often remind me to keep it simple by saying, “Don’t worry about the mule going blind. Just load the wagon.” Sure it sounds a bit folksy, but I’m a bit of an old soul and that works for us here at Blind Mule.
